As a general Paediatrician, Krista is passionate about supporting the whole family in providing the best care for their child from birth to adulthood. She enjoys working in a holistic manner to find and treat the underlying cause of the child’s symptoms. Whether its physical, behavioural or emotional, Krista’s experience with her own children and extra training in holistic approaches to paediatric health care, has aided her in tailoring an individualised approach for each patient.
As well as working at Lake Macquarie Paediatrics, Krista continues to work part-time for NSW health (John Hunter Hospital) in a multi-disciplinary team supporting adolescents struggling with substance use. As the Paediatrician with YDACS (Youth Drug & Alcohol Clinical Services) in Newcastle, Krista offers medical support for those young people who are physically, emotionally or mentally unwell in relation to their substance use. In this role, she also supervises paediatric trainees and offers teaching to medical students as a Conjoint Lecturer of the University of Newcastle.
The importance of maintaining a happy and healthy work-life balance is paramount for Dr Krista and her family. When not at work, she is packing in shared moments with the family. Camping with her partner, kids and dog Coco is a favourite activity. Running, hiking, swimming at the beach, travelling and exploring the world with her children and partner are all shared experiences they love.
